Do you dream of waterfalls
and canyons covered in fresh snow and ice or old red barns
and country roads dressed in their finest winter whites?
Well, if so, this is the winter workshop for you. Experience
West Virginia's mountains cloaked in fresh snow and ice! You
will have the chance to photograph scenes that few
photographers capture, from Blackwater Falls, Blackwater
Canyon, Shays Run, winter wildlife and fantastic ice
formations. Blackwater Falls State Park Lodge and Resort
will be our base camp of discovery to photograph this
amazing mountain landscape in West Virginia's Appalachian
Mountains.
Included in price:
Instruction, guiding, classroom and critiques
Not included: Lodging, meals
and transportation.
Recommended Lodging:
Blackwater Falls Lodge (about $80.00 per night)
Once you register for the
workshop, we will send the lodging information and
recommended list of clothing and equipment for the
workshop.
Driving conditions can be a
challenge during in the mountains of West Virginia. A car or
SUV with four wheel drive or all wheel drive is
recommended.
Nearest
Airport: Pittsburg, PA (Approximately a 2.5 hour drive
to Lodge)
Basic Itinerary:
Meet at noon on Friday and
open the workshop with an intro slide show and classroom
presentation. Then a sunset shoot.
On Saturday, weather
permitting, we will be in the field for roughly 4 hours in
the morning. Then break for brunch and hot drinks. A 1 to 2
hour classroom presentation on post processing. The
afternoon will be spent shooting until after sunset.
Sunday: Same as Saturday.
On Monday, we will shoot for
about 4 hours in the morning and then break for breakfast as
a group. The workshop ends after breakfast around 11am. |
